Service coordinators are on the front lines of care and support but carrying the emotional and logistical weight of others can lead to chronic stress and burnout. This highly interactive session introduces music-based mindfulness techniques that promote self-regulation, reduce anxiety, and help staff reconnect with calm and clarity. Participants will explore how tempo, silence, rhythm, and breath are core components of music and can be used to create restorative moments throughout the day. No musical experience is required. About the Presenter
Professor Lora Robinson, MMT, MT-BC, is a passionate educator, board-certified music therapist, and advocate for equity in healthcare and education. As a proud faculty member at Howard University, she brings both excellence and purpose to her teaching within the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts. Through her work, Professor Robinson strives to dismantle systemic barriers in wellness care and music therapy, to include mental health services, supporting those with varied areas of disability, and the underserved.
